The most glamorous of careers often hide many a sad story beneath. Winner of both the USA and World championships in hurdle events, Lolo Jones has reached her current standing after many years of hard work and an immense patience. Jones was raised with an extremely difficult and hardship-filled life being the daughter of a single mother with five children. Her mother was always in motion as well as having resided in a basement church for a short length of time. Jones, who lived in a mobile and nomadic lifestyle up until she enrolled in the high school system, was required the option of moving to a new school annually. Jones was kept apart from her parents at Theodore Roosevelt for the purpose of competing in athletics in track and field. Jones was part of four families throughout her time at high school in order study in one place.
